Florida Summers
The first time my family and I went on vacation in Orlando in June, I wasn't expecting how hot and humid it was. It was unbearably hot standing in long lines for the rides and it was really crowded! Then, it started to "rain in buckets." So, like a lot of other people, we left the park!
I had decided "I would never go back to Florida in June again!" But, when the next June was approaching, I found myself wanting to return. Instead of going to the parks in the daytime, we hung out by the pool all day. The heat wasn't so noticeable when we were laying around a pool drinking ice cold drinks and playing in the water. Then, after waiting until the Sun went down a bit, we went to the parks.
But, once we arrived at the Magic Kingdom in the late afternoon it rained! We were going to leave, but decided to wait until most of the crowds had left. So, we went to Tony's Town Square Restaurant and ate an early dinner. Once we came out, it had stopped raining and the park had cleared out!
I had just learned two valuable things:
1. Don't go to the parks during the hottest time of day.
2. If it starts to rain, don't leave. Most people don't know that it usually only rains about an hour, then it stops and all of the water drains pretty fast. If you don't mind everything being a little wet, you won't have to wait in line long!
